About the event

Singer, songwriter, and social activist Pete Seeger dominated American radio in the 1940s and 1950s with hit songs like "Where Have All the Flowers Gone," "If I Had a Hammer," and "Turn, Turn, Turn." From songs of protest to songs that advocated for civil rights, Seeger firmly believed that music can make a difference in social reform. Come join Dr. Tom Cimarusti (FGCU Professor of Music History) as we explore the life and music of one of America's most celebrated folk singers. And of course, don't forget to bring your singing voices as we pay tribute to Seeger in a folk music revival of our very own!
